Another hot take; the game awards this year sucked. Like, Astrobot, seriously? There were better choices on the board than that and it honestly disappointed me. Also, only about 2 of the reveals for games actually appealed to me, the rest felt like the average indie game that's been done 10x over. It just left a bad taste in my mouth overall.

Jackie and Hyde definitely grew in lots of ways in the later seasons. Jackie learned to appreciate the finer things in life and be less bossy. But also, she had a lot of moments of being SUCH a shitty friend. I still can’t get over her calling Eric “Donna’s sister” and making fun of their relationship.

So it’s wrong when Eric & Donna judge JH but Jackie can make all these remarks just fine? And I’m definitely aware that Eric is not some innocent angel with Jackie either, both were shitty to each other at times. But he let Jackie in the circle, let her hang in his basement, and this is what she does? Like at least be a little more supportive of her best friend’s relationship.

And Hyde, oh Hyde, he is such a fucking dick to E/D. Asking “why is [Donna] with [Eric] again?” Like how would Hyde feel if Eric asked him why Jackie was with him? I feel like there are more instances with Hyde being a dick about their relationship, but it’ll take a while. Point blank, later seasons Hyde treated Eric like shit.

Treasures of Ruin Headcanons

It is not uncommon to find stone figures of Ting-Lu marking settlements in northern Paldea. In ancient times, the custom was to put coins in the domed vessel atop its head, typically whenever one arrived or departed the village. The reasoning is not well understood. Some scholars believe they were merely respectful offerings. Others speculate that the coins were intended to weigh Ting-Lu's head down, to prevent it from escaping its shrine and ravaging the earth.

Paldea is home to a proverb, often translated as 'melt the sand and leave nowhere to stand'. It cautions against the ruinous effects of jealousy or envy, and likely traces back to Chi-Yu's origins. Both in Paldea and its surrounding regions, envy is associated with fire and heat.

It is commonly believed that flowers and fruit trees do not grow in the woods surrounding Grasswither Shrine, but this is not true. As any local will tell you, the fruit grows quickly, but rots quicker still. Wild pokémon do not eat it.

Paldean fables warn children against walking alone in heavy snow. If they see a snowman, they must ignore it - especially if it seems to be waving at them. Chien-Pao is the most playful of the Treasures of Ruin; while your eyes fix on the snow figure, you may miss the sheet of ice descending from above.

The exact nature of the Treasures of Ruin is poorly understood in modern Paldea. While their existence is accepted, there is dispute over the extent of their abilities and the level of destruction attributed to them. Some academics argue that they were only symbols of the bloodshed and environmental discord under the ancient monarch's rule, later elevated to legends via oral storytelling. However, more recent research supports the Treasures' historic reputation. Ornamental metal vessels, often known as 'worry bowls', are found in many houses across Paldea. They are a common gift for children, who are told to write their fears down on scraps of paper and put them in the vessel to be rid of them. Some believe that these bowls are styled after the vessel on Ting-Lu's head. The protective nature of the bowls is at odds with Ting-Lu's generally negative reputation, which may suggest that the Treasures were not always a symbol of evil in Paldean culture.

In old Paldean writings, frostbite is often referred to as 'sword touch' or the 'bite of the cat', thought to be physical evidence of Chien-Pao's ruin on the body. Even in modern Paldea, children are encouraged to wrap up warmly against the cold, lest 'the cat nip their nose'.

It's honestly amusing to me how this year Sweden kept making fun of Käärijä, how they kept the "haha, imagine Finland would've won last year, then there'd be milkmaids, Moomins and Käärijä as interval acts, wouldn't that be crazy" attitude for both semis and the final, and then proceeded to give us these absolute bangers of interval acts:

1. A song about EBU's spoke person wanting to bang Martin Österdahl (paired with continious booing from the crowd lmao).

2. Loreen, singing two different songs which sound completely the same, with the most hideous staging on Earth (I'm sorry, Loreen fans, but it looked like she got stuck in the dentist's chair).

3. Creepy AI (?) ABBA holograms. Sorry once again, but they were hard to look at, I'm glad they weren't there for long.

You know what? I WISH there were milkmaids, Moomins and Käärijä. That would've been really fun.

The way Ivan's body is facing Till completely, laying on his side, giving him his full attention. This is probably the most unguarded and genuine smile Ivan's ever had. Till's collar is red because he's most likely going on a rant, and Ivan's is green because he's just happy to be there with him and to listen to his voice. Look at the hope and innocence on that face, the calm contentedness of it.

I headcanon that this is Ivan's happiest memory. Laying on the soft grass, young and untainted by heartbreak, expectation and the responsibility of performing a character not only for the audience, but for everyone around him. Just peace and quiet, and the lovely sound of Till's voice, talking about anything and everything.
